Fine Art Reproduction
A Giclee is an archival, color accurate, fine art reproduction print created on a digital inkjet printer. Giclee is a French term meaning, "to spray", which was adopted by Jack Duganne, master printmaker of Nash Editions in 1990 to describe fine-art prints produced by inkjet printers. Giclee reproductions are re-sold by fine art professionals as limited edition prints of their own original artwork. Oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics and other mediums are captured with a high resolution digital camera which is specially calibrated to capture true colors. The digitized artwork is then processed by a powerful color managed computer for output to a giclee printer. Imaging Technologies uses an EPSON 9600 with special pigmented inks which are colorfast for 150 years when used on archival canvas, watercolor and photographic media.
